Hello,

I have HR+/Her2- beast cancer, and the treatments have thrown me into instant menopause. Are there any non-estrogen-based over the counter meds/foods/natural things I can use to help? I'm in a lot of pain with the menopause itself on top of the cancer. At the same time, I don't want to take something that will feed estrogen.

Thank you!

Primrose oil or Bonafide. It was suggested by my oncologist. Primrose is good if you are patient to wait until it starts working - 4 to 6 weeks. I was patient and it works for me. Give it a try and have a good luck!

I would suggest talking with a nutritionist through the cancer center you are going to. Eating a healthy diet and knowing what foods will make you feel better will make you feel better! I am also using the Bonafide pills that are inserted for vaginal dryness and they do seem to help. I'm not sure why you are having pain from menopause but vitamin D is super important for your bones and my nutritionist prescribed me a big dose that I only have to take once a week. I hate taking all these meds! Exercise also helps with menopause as it increases the feel good hormones which are so good for us (and helps our bones). Ashwagandha is supposed to help with symptoms but I havent really noticed much difference by taking it so far but will continue to and stay hopeful. I hope some of this helps you, menopause is just no fun!
