Safe to use same shower with ostomy while on folfox
Was recently diagnosed with stage 3A colon cancer, had surgery and needed an ostomy. About to begin folfox chemo treatments after the new years. We have one bathroom with a single shower-tub unit. Is it safe for my spouse and children to shower after me while I have chemo attached to port and I am using the same shower? Is it safe for them when I shower after me when I have to change my ostomy bag? What precautions do I need to take? How often? I am a little worried for their safety and exposure but also don’t want to be making more work for myself. This has taken a lot of my energy to fight.
