Thank you for your thoughts. We will ask about the genome test. We will feel better about AS if we have all of the information available to make the best informed decision.

His friend had the exact same diagnosis 12 years ago and chose RP surgery. I have to think that back then there wasn’t quite as much information on AS.

I have told my husband it’s his body and he has to decide what he can live with. Just very thankful he doesn’t have to rush to make a decision.

Hi Wifesupport, I am also here as a caregiver/support for my husband who is 53 and had a radical prostatectomy five weeks ago. His PSA was 18.4 in September 2024, 14.1 October 2024, and 12.14 December 2024, pathology showed a Gleason of 3+4=7. I feel for your situation and I am sorry that you and your husband are going through this. No matter what your husband decides to do, please remember to take care of yourself with physically and mentally, so that you can help take care of him. Best wishes to you both.

So sorry that you are going through this as well along with everyone else on the message boards. I hope things are going well with his recovery. I’m not sure what he’s going to choose. It’s a slow process. Probably about 3-4 weeks before we can meet with the doctor about treatment options.
