I’m new here. I have had prostate issues for about 15-20 years. Usually bph and prostititis. Mathis year my psa went from 4 to 6 and my isopsa is 14. I had a biopsy the other day and this is all
That was in the drs notes.”The seminal vesicals were normal in size, shape, and configuration. The capsular margin was intact. A significant middle lobe was not seen. Residual urine was noted to be minimal. Ultrasound evaluation of the prostate showed no abnormalities. There was no Prostatic Calcifications to be noted” anyone have an idea ?

    Hi,

Good news, no cancer was detected, sounds like you have BPH and Prostititis.

This sounds as if it was just an ultrasound from the reading and sound of the report, not a MpMRI or a biopsy. I would ask specifically about the MRI as just using an ultrasound for the reading of the prostate if the PSA is high I don’t know if that is the standard of care. Certainly the results of the Ultrasound sound positive, but still think the MRI is what is needed.

Yes, it seems to me that you describe the results of an image study ultrasound. Where is the biopsy's pathological report?

That would describe the details of any positive core (s) diagnosing you with prostate cancer.

Ultrasound is not appropriate in prostate cancer analysis or judgments.

    Hi,

If you did have a biopsy where they went inside your Prostate and took samples with a needle it looks like they found no cancer in those samples. If they did an external ultrasound on your lower abdomen like others have noted then that can not detect cancer. Only a biopsy can detect cancer. The “normal” course of action is to get a MRI and then use that data to take tissue samples looking for cancer. So did they take tissue samples?

Did your doctor do a digital exam at anytime? BPH and prostitis raise PSA, not just cancer. From your description, it does sound like an ultrasound not biopsy. They would have had to see suspect areas toknow where to insert the biopsy needles.

Yes, it was an transperineal biopsy. I haven’t had the biopsy results yet. I was only asking if what little info the doctors note did gave me had any insight for me.

I definitely had a biopsy. They use a rectal prove that is a type of mri to guide the needles more directly. I don’t get my biopsy results for another week. I wasn’t able not

Asking if the doctors notes meant anything good or bad.

That does clear some confusion. I don’t think your Dr. notes really reveal anything from the ultrasound during the biopsy. I think you just need to wait for the biopsy results. Good luck

We totally understand your anxiety, but as the others have pointed out, the doctor's notes don't address the real issue. I know, it's hard to have to wait for the actual biopsy report.
