60 year old friend with gallbladder cancer and tumors all over
Please bear with me. I'm just looking to help a dear friend any way I can and thought this might be a good place to start.
He is 60 years old and has cancer. It started as gallbladder cancer a few months ago. They opened him up to try the Whipple procedure, but discovered it has spread a lot and there are approximately 12 tumors all over, so they didn't continue. Obviously, not a good outcome, and they aren't giving him a timeline for when he should expect to pass away. My friend will continue to work directly with his oncologist, but the oncologist has indicated that options are limited at this point.
I am just wondering if there is anything this community could recommend in terms of experimental treatments or new/promising treatments that exist but aren't well known yet. If there is a better place to be asking about this, please let me know.
Maybe this post is more for me than it is for him -- to tell myself I did everything I could to try and help. I don't know. Thank you, and I'll take any advice or suggestions you all have.
