Peritoneal Cancer Chemotherapy

Hoping all works well for you. They have told me I won't be eligible for anything but chemo. I am interested in ivemection or alternative, I don't see much research ever being done on this disease. They first said colon cancer, had resection, then said started in appendix. After three negative tests, found .peritoneal cancer. As of last test had not spread to organs but could be different now. I truly wish you well. God Bless

Taxol is the first go to treatment for Ovarian and Periteonal cancers. Ask your oncologist. Several people writing on this site are taking Taxol with Carboplatin. I am only able to do chemo ( no more surgery or no radiation). I am resistant to Carboplatin. I took with Gemzar back in August of 2023. Once quit working can’t take again. Not enough research is being done on our disease. I’m taking it a day at a time. Thankful I still am not feeling nauseous or in pain. I never had the fluid build up from the liver yet that several of the patients have had to be get drained and removed. It can always get worse but for now it’s manageable.

I did chemo , 5 months , with 3 fridays of treatment then one Friday off, then I just quit & didn’t do the 6 th month, too sick. BUT, looking back I believe I didn’t really need it, my surgeon said she got it all & I didn’t do my research, so I was scared into doing it. But I’m still here with cancer stem cells that won’t go away. But I feel great and believe my natural path doc has me on a better path. That’s why I feel so great now. Plus positive attitudes, so keep reading do research, a book by DR.Erin L Coneally is amazing with lots of suggestions, she has clinic in CA, that does traditional methods and a clinic for holistic methods. After I had a web visit w/ her I’ve been following her ways….like turning body more ALkaline with filters on shower head, infared sauna, red light, ozone treatments & such. Hope this helps

Right now I am doing 8 cycles of Folfoxiri locally, though they may remove the Oxaliplatin after my 6th cycle because of neuropathy toxicity. Then in November I return to Mayo for an exploratory laparoscopy and imaging to assess real time extent of my disease because I have had recent CT, PET, and MRI which don't completely agree on what shows up where and how big. If chemo is being effective at controlling spread, I will do 4ish more rounds of chemo + bevacizumab in preparation for cytoreductive surgery.

Thanks to everyone sharing. I was diagnosed in May 2024 with Peritoneal cancer, stage 4, with no known source. They suspect the original source was pancreatic biliary but no tumors have been found there. It has been such a scary and grief filled year knowing this is "incurable". I agree that there has not been enough research on this disease. I am being treated in Minneapolis but I go to Mayo in Rochester for consultation and evaluation for the HIPEC.I was not a candidate for HIPEC, close but not close enough according to their numbers. Gemcitamine and Abraxine have brought my CA19-9 way down. Now my CEA and CA125 are on the rise. It is confusing.
Bibliophile, are you going to Mayo in Rochester? Curious who your oncologist is.

I’m 4.6 years post treatment & feeling great, I do still have peritoneal stem cells floating around they just are not active. I’ve been getting a DNA work up on my blood, & that is where they can see I’m not free & clear, but feeling back to normal. I still do holistic vit. And other stuff for extra health & immune support
