Lumpectomy Recovery
Hi. I had a lumpectomy on my right breast with some lymph nodes removed on Friday. They did put in a drain as well. I did not handle the anesthesia well. I woke up dizzy, nauseous and threw up all the way home. Three days later, while im not in pain, I am still woozy and get faint by mid day. I feel the best in the morning but by mid day im faint. I'm trying to take it easy but still try to move about a little as well. Its super frustrating and scary too. How normal is this? I read other posts about people with quick recoveries and I am scared something is going wrong.

Hi Anya,
I had surgery very similar to yours. I didn't have a problem with the anesthesia, though. I think you should call the surgeon and let them know. You are probably going in soon to have the drain removed, but you could ask to come in sooner, if you are feeling bad. I imagine you aren't sleeping well, keep resting. It would not be good to fall down. Eat healthy foods. You should feel better soon. Let me know.

I had a lumpectomy and lymph nodes removed on the 25th of October. I handle the anesthesia fine but the pain is not going away. My breast feels very different. I am so tired all the time I don't want to do anything.
