    yes surgery is still an option but with a caveat’s.

    1. You are not past most surgeon’s age limits on recommendations for surgery. They vary but 75 seems the upper limit in most cases. I know some recommend 73. They have a 10 year life expectancy recommendation taking in the individual’s overall health conditIons and comorbidities.


    2. Many surgeons do not undertake a salvage prostatectomy. They are more complicated and you need to find a surgeon that routinely does and is familiar with salvage prostatectomy.

    3. As stated above potential increased side effects.

    All of the above played into my surgery decision.

    I wanted to add there is also focal brachytherapy (FB) as another option.

    I will continue to watch this list

    My next two things are an updated MRI and a new biopsy (this time targeted just for the cancer area but through skin.

    I have an appointment with my previous urologist which I am going to cancel

    The new guy seems to take active a little more active than the former. My Gleason score has increased from 6 to 7 and the cancer has grown 50% I know this is relative but the long and short of it is, it is not going away and taking action sooner seems to make the most sense now
