New Here with severe Iron deficiency

in Colorectal Cancer #1

I just found out I am severely iron deficient. I also have anemia. I have had changes in bowel habits, quite a bit of bleeding and bloating and gas. I have a colonoscopy on 9/10 but I’m freaking out in the mean time. My brother has colon cancer. Has anyone else had these symptoms but not had colon cancer?

    bleeding and anemia are signs of colorectal cancer so please get a colonoscopy

    They were the main signs for me, hope you're coping adequately with the fears we all have/had. Five more days and you'll know what you're facing, and I hope it's a simple, benign thing like hemorrhoids. But if not, know that it's a generally a long path fighting CRC, and time, the right reading, and talking it out do help with the shock and fear. Learning to cope with the load of it, is a big thing, as most of us had to juggle busy lives while adding tests, visits and treatments, without dropping anything, except maybe the social circle.
