Worst fear come true
hello,
My mom has just been diagnosed with IDC this week. She is my best friend and my only parent I have left. This has been one of my worst fears and I can’t believe it’s happening. Just looking for some support and/or advise on how to cope and also support my mom on this journey. I literally wanna break down but I know I have to be strong for her. She just turned 59 last month and is the most positive beautiful person inside and out. We will go see the surgeon on Monday. I just don’t know what to expect. This is not about me it’s about her but I just also want to be prepared. If anyone has some advise. Thank you

Hi there. I hope I am not too late in responding to your post. One of the things I told my mom is that no matter what she decides in her journey it will always be the right decision. If your mom happens to be the type that heavily depends on her faith then that phrase makes more sense because there is no wrong decision she can make.
So what does that have to do with you…. I do not believe in the concept of coincidence…writing that YOU have to know that you are the strength and support and correct person to be the extra oomph of energy or Earth Angel she needs to fight and walk and rest in this phase of her life. Your perspective in seeing your mom in this re-birth she is going through are the words she will need to hear when and if your mom hits her lows and girly there are gonna be loooowwss. You found this place and I think in time you will continue to find your tribe of daughters who get it.
Also consider this an okay to be soft. I understand being hard or what is it …Factually Stoic is the way to go but I think like me…you know you need to be soft because being soft allows you to rest and recalibrate your intelligence and energy so when your metaphorical cup is full you can give as you want without sacrificing yourself.
