Cancer center experiences

Anyone else experiencing micro aggression at your cancer center? Informing our cancer team about Trauma informed radiation was a hurdle to jump over in the beginning. Experiencing homophobia 5 days a week for another 5 weeks seems to be just another part of the treatment. We plan to address this issue with the hospital as soon as treatment is complete. Saying something now might help, but it also might make matters worse, so it doesn’t seem worth the risk.

Yes, Dr. Inappropriate and Dr. Heartless couldn’t read the room even if it were a book, and the rest of the staff follows their lead. We’re coming on a year since treatment started and I’m sorry I didn’t push for genetic testing to determine ability to process the chemo drug. Homophobia doesn’t help, but if you can’t process the drug and it kills you, or damages you for the rest of your life, the homophobia takes a back seat. Promoting knowledge of this test is my passion these days: https://test4dpd.org
