Radiation treatment choice

My wife has some hot spots on her PET scan. She has to decide between having a few pin point high dose treatments,(which is promised to have less side effects)or to go with a 5 week combination treatment of hitting those spots with high radiation and using low radiation in the surroundings. Has anyone dealt with this? Thanks Tim P
