edited March 6 in Pancreatic Cancer #1

my father is facing the tough decision of weather or not to undergo the Whipple procedure this month. He has completed two rounds of chemo and the doc says that the tumor has shrunk enough to remove it surgically. He is 70 years old and in good health otherwise. He was diagnosed with stage 2 pancreatic cancer in July 2023. it has not spread to other organs. Need advise or experience! TIA

I would be interested in any information about this also as this is in my future. I am still in the diagnosis phase. and will have a biopsy on 2/26/2024 but the MRI indicates a strong suspicion of malignancy. I am also going to have chemo.

Stage 2 and chemotherapy have reduced the size since diagnosis....sounds like surgery is a good option with skilled surgeons, excellent care at hospital and home. Good luck.
