Questions to ask before starting radiation about how the radiation machine works
Hi, I have come up with a list of questions I wish I had known needed to be asked about what my eyes would see and what my ears would hear while the radiation machine is moving around me.
The only information I was given was that the treatments would be "quick", which I interpreted to mean "the same", and it really scared me when the rotation went in reverse.
I am sure you can add more questions of your own, but here are mine. I hope they are helpful in making your radiation treatment a good experience.
1. Describe the machine(s) that will be giving me the treatment and how it moves.
2. Will the treatment and the motion be the same everyday?
3. Are additional xrays and CT scans taken during the course of the treatment?
4. Is the 2 way communication intercom between patient and technician in working order?
5. What should I do if I have a problem while undergoing the treatment?
