Freaking out over here.....CEA/L5 mets
Long story short...Stage IIB colon cancer April 2021. Everything good until METS on liver July 2023. Liver resection. One nodule less than smaller than 1 cm. CEA returned to normal
Dec 2023 METS to lung (1 nodule smaller than 1cm) and 1 small tumor (actual size unknown). Surgery with nodule removed and lung resection followed by 2 rounds of radiation of L5 spine. Had bloodwork yesterday and CEA was 7.1 prior to surgery and radiation but yesterday it was 27.2 I'm completely scared to death. My PET on 12/18 only showed those two spots.
Can radiation cause CEA to rise? Can one tumor cause that much of a rise in CEA? I will also add that am starting chemo next week. It will be campto and 5FU. Not looking forward to losing my hair.
