High PSA
New to the group. 66 y/o male. Having bleeding problems with blood and clots in urine. PSA result. Last year 9.6. New reading 16.0 flagged critical. See urologist in 2 weeks. What do you all think I can expect. 16.0 seems very high.

I expect an MRI followed by a biopsy, targeting any suspicious regions identified by the MRI while also random sampling the rest of it. IN THAT ORDER too…MRI then biopsy. Not the other way around.
Other than that, it’s a trip to Vegas, my friend. Lots of potential outcomes, most no big deal, a few disconcerting.
Sending strength…

Hi,
Seeing your Urologist is the first step. Blood in the urine could mean a lot of things, some pretty benign some not so good. In adding to what centralPA said your Urologist might also do an xray looking for kidney stones/obstructions in your urinary system. Good luck………
