Option on Stent vs J Tube
Hi All, My dad has Esophegal Cancer which he was diagnosed with in 2021, to date he has had 2 rounds of chemo and 2 rounds of radiation, as a family we decided we did not want to go the surgery route. The second time was because there were signs that the cancer had moved into a small section of the liver. He finished last rounds in May 2023. 3 months later he is back to not being able to eat / swallow food. The doctor has recommended a stent, however I was reading up on the J tube and am wondering what is really the best option.
How long after either does one actually survive?

I like having a g tube, makes nutrition easier (no more worries about what to buy, cooking, nutrition of foods..) It simply simplifies. I'm 45 pounds under weight but no more heart attacks. I occasionally eat regular food for taste but spit it out or vomit it if I accidentally swallow some. I try to enjoy my cancer and dysphagia
