Recent MRI Findings
Hello Everyone, 🙋♀️
My name is Beth.
I recently had an Abdominal MRI w/without contrast at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville Florida.
Here is the Abdominal MRI report impression:
- IMPRESSION: Questioned sub-centimeter nodule-in-nodule arterial enhancement and washout in hepatic segment IV. While findings are indeterminant for hepatocellular carcinoma in this noncirrhotic liver, venous phase imaging appears similar since at least June 2019 suggesting benignity.
- Recommend MRI Liver in 3-6 months to further assess.
In my research, Classic Characteristics of HCC on MRI.
- Nodule in a nodule
- Arterial enhancement
- T2 hyperintensity
- Washout
I am not understanding why the radiologist called this indeterminant instead of probable or likely HCC from this MRI.
Was it because it was less than 1 cm?
With these findings, why would radiology want me to wait 3 to 6 months for it to grow?
Your insights are appreciated. I thank you in advance.🦋
