Senior Chief (Ret), Departing 🫑

Finished 35 Rads (60 Gray [Gy]) today. Finished 7 chemo's (carboplatin) last week Wednesday.

Tomorrow starts my recovery period. So I'm thinking come this weekend I start enduring 'The Suck' πŸ˜•

Problem is, Saturday we are attending a 'Celebration of Life' for my wife's Sister; this battle finally beat her down after too many years fighting πŸ˜”

Hang in there to everyone on the journey. Ya, it sucks, 0 stars - would not recommend. But keep the fight going! HooYah βš“οΈ

    Well HOO-RAY Bert.

I celebrate the accomplishment of finishing treatment with you.

Certainly, recovery is quite a hard part and I think you know it.

But, step by step, treatment, then recovery, then the new you.

Sorry to hear of your wife's sister's passing-I offer my sincere condolences.

    Congrats! You made it through.

Recovery is slow, but you should be back to "normal" in time. I went through the same regimen in 2020. By doing the anti-edema massage religiously, I managed to avoid it. However, I do have fibrosis in the are of my neck where the radiation was concentrated. Seems it'll be that way forever.

I'm new here, but will check in daily. So fill free to ask me anything going forward.

    Again, congrats, Chief!

    Tony, CW4 (Ret)
