Tumor Deposit pn1c and Perineural Invasion - stage IIIA
I post couple weeks ago about my Robotic Assisted Sigmoid Colon Resection surgery. Now the surgery report came back. It brought back more bad news. My primary tumor is PTis-1. Meaning maybe Tis or T1. However they found 1 tumor deposit and Perineural Invasion. I guess no one can explain how it happens. Now based on the staging protocol, it has been bumped to Stage IIIA.
I am looking for anyone have the tumor deposit etc similar case as mine. how is the treatment plan and outlook of the survival chances.

Sorry, I am not familiar with the terms you are using, so other than being a 3b, I guess I am of no help. But hopefully someone with a similar diagnosis will chime in soon.

I would suggest you not focus so much on survival chance studies. Most of the data is obviously from older studies, and given that they were older studies, the data reflects treatment policies and chemotherapy drugs that are not the current treatment options.
It’s simply does no one any good to worry about studies showing survival chances for drugs and treatments no longer used.
PNI, LVI, tumor budding, differentiation, # nodes positive, decision to undergo chemo, etc., they all have significance. But the only thing that matters is you. And you are going to fight this, follow your doctors instructions, and ultimately beat it. No matter what the statistics, old and inaccurate as they are, someone is always coming out on the right side of even the more gloomy statistics, and that person will be you.
