Have any females had their fallopian tubes removed during colectomy? My surgeon has given me the option and I'm wondering what others have experienced.

I had an ovary removed. Depends on your age and condition of tubes. Good luck.

Hi, I had an ovarian transposition since my cancer is rectal and required radiation . My fallopian tubes were removed due to this procedure but not for colectomy. Nothing has really changed other infertility . Depends on your age

I had a Fallopian tube removed, but a long time before the Cancer hit.

If they leave the ovaries, then you shouldn't go into menopause - unless you're already there. I think the fallopian tube removal would only affect your ability to conceive, if that were on the books.

Good luck with your surgery, and be sure to pop by and let us know how everything goes.

My wife had her tubes removed as a precaution. Idea was that if she wasn’t in need of them anymore (we have kids and plan no more) then there is no downside to taking out a potential magnet for future cancer.
