My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 metastasis breast cancer. It has spread to her bones and lymph nodes. I left my job to care for her, and always drove her everywhere. But unfortunately I've lost my car and don't have enough money to get it back. I have set up a go fund me for it. But it isn't doing too well. So now we don't know how to get her to her appointments. My mom is.. let's say a fluffy woman, and it is a struggle to get her down the stairs, (shes diaabled) so transportation companies are telling us no. They can't help. So now we don't know what to do. If anyone can give us any advice or help us in anyway. It'll be highly appreciated. I really don't want to loose my mom, because we can't get my mom to her appointments to keep her alive . Im Desperate.

    Hi Marelouise92,

Thank you for reaching out to your American Cancer Society's Cancer Survivors Network. It sounds like a very emotional time for you and your mom. I know transportation can be a big barrier for many patients.

As your question is outside of our scope here at CSN, please reach out to us at ACS's National Cancer Information Center. You can call our toll-free number, 1.800.227.2345, where Cancer Information Specialists are available around the clock every day of the week to speak with you. They may be able to assist finding resources that may help. You can also utilize the Live Chat feature Monday through Friday between 7am-6:30pm CST on www.cancer.org.

    Best regards,
