A life of Brain Tumors

Both my twin brother and I are childhood brain tumor (pineal germinoma) survivors. He was diagnosed at the age of 7 and I was diagnosed with the same tumor 5 years later at the age of 12. Fortunately both were successfully removed via surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation although we both still deal with effects now as adults in our early 40s. My brother also experienced a meningioma as an adult as a result of his radiation treatment that was removed through surgery. On top of this, my brother-in-law passed away suddenly in his mid-40s shortly after being diagnosed with a GBM tumor last year. All this is to say I am extremely passionate about doing what I can to connect with and support others going through this journey. I have a background in psychology and currently work as a college professor. However, I'm hoping to make a career change coming up to better follow what I now feel is my calling in life to work for this cause. Sending love and light to everyone.
