Muscle Recovery after Neck Dissection

If you had a neck dissection, I'm interested in learning how you are dealing with the muscle recovery. I had TT and LND surgery 1.5 years ago and my neck is STILL not back to normal, and I spent the first year doing neck stretches and PT movements until I just couldn't keep up the regimen. How long did it take before the muscles are not noticeable and feel like the other side??! My entire left neck, ear & scalp, and down to the collar bone to shoulder is numb. But I can definitely feel the difference of the muscle inside and it's so frustrating. How long does this process take?
