Here for information during the waiting process
Hi all:
About a month ago, my husband went for a CT calcium scan of the heart just as a preventative measure. A lung nodule less than 1cm was observed and a CT scan was ordered which found the following.
Mediastinum - Right Hilar adenopathy/soft tissue 2.3cm
Scattered bilateral lung nodules, 1.4 cm, no suspicious nodules or masses
Scalloped hepatic morphology
Mild cirrhotic morphology
They have ordered a PET scan and CT scan with contrast for late August. The waiting is paralyzing and my husband is very passive. He is a former heavy smoker and in his 20's (he is now 46) he worked construction and was exposed to asbestos. Should I push for quicker appointments? What are the biggest concerns here and what could they mean?Correlate for SARCOIDOSIS was also mentioned.
Thank you for any input. I lost my aunt to adenocarcinoma and both my parents to COPD lung cancer, my mom just a year ago and I am just recovering so to be hit with this makes me terrified. I wish you all well on your journeys.
