Somehow We Hold On
Hello folks.
I recently came across a song that had me thinking about my cancer experiences and some unbelievably tough times I had endured now and then. I also have in my mind the many members on here I have seen go through some of the toughest things you can imagine. There are some amazing triumphs that the folks on here have accomplished and how they did it I don't know. Those hills, huge humps, the storms that eventually pass sometimes quickly, and sometimes we wonder if they are ever going to end. And also the caregivers and the families of folks on here have their moments and times that are some of the toughest to endure with the cancer patient. And sometimes we get to the end of our rope, and the saying is when you get to the end of your rope tie a knot and hang on. And when the struggles we go through are done and we are on the other side of them we look back and just can't imagine how we made it. Like the surgeries, and chemos, and the long courses of radiation that ravages our bodies.
At times we felt washed up and washed out and felt like we had nothing left but somehow we "Held On".
Song "I Held On"
Lyrics below.
I Held On
You ask me how it is that I'm still standing
You wonder how I made it through the storm
I can't boast of any special powers
There's no secret, I just held on
And I held on till the storm was over
I don't claim to be a hero
And I don't have all the answers
But I held on till the storm was over
It's not because I'm good
Not because I'm great
Not because I'm strong
But I held on
I can tell you things are finally happening
I've got blessings I can finally call my own
Many times I wondered
If I would even make it, but while I was wondering
I just keep on holding on
I held on till the storm was over
I don't claim to be a hero
And I don't have all the answers
I held on till the storm was over
Not because I'm good
Not because I'm great
Not because I'm strong
I just held on
You see I held on to faith (I held on)
And I held on to God
I would not think of letting go
My foot was planted on the rock
See I held to prayer
And I held on to what He said (I held on)
I held on to all that I had left
I held on till the storm was over
I don't claim to be a hero
I don't have all the answers
But I held on till the storm was over
Not because I'm good
Not because I'm great
Not because I'm strong
I just held on
Woohoo
In spite of everything that I've been through
I'm still standing
I gotta tell somebody
Just hold on to His hand
Oooh
Wishing You the all Best
Take Care God Bless-Russ
