As I mentioned last time, we were anxiously waiting for the day of the colonoscopy to make sure nothing was wrong. We were not prepared for anything too out of the ordinary and we assumed it might be a bad reaction to some food or some sort of internal cut that could easily be fixed. I was at school when the colonoscopy was taking place, just starting my freshman year of high school.

I still vividly remember the day I got home from school that day. My parents arrived just after me. They already knew the news and decided to just show me the pictures from the colonoscopy. Although I was shocked at the result, I managed to stay calm and even give some suggestions as to what our next steps should be. The doctor was not sure if the tumor was cancerous but we decided to prepare for the worst. Next time I will share what happened in the months before the surgery.
