Stage 4 Signet Ring Cell Adenocarcinoma GI related
Hi everyone,
New to the site. My wife was diagnosed with Stage 4 Signet ring cell adenocarcinoma recently. She did not have any mass inside her colon but the GI doctor who did her colonoscopy found a lesion near the area where the appendix is attached. They also found the same cancer cells in some fluid of the peritoneum. As of yet no signs of other organ involvement. The consensus seems to be that the cancer is on the outside of the colon which of course they cannot see without opening her up, also the appendix itself may be involved. She has spent 5 days in the hospital dealing with constant vomiting, inability to eat. They tried every drug they could think of for the nausea, but were unable to get her any relief. The ended up sending her home in the same condition, saying the only thing that would help her was the chemo beginning to work on the cancer. Chemo starts tomorrow, but obviously we are very concerned that with that added pressure, the nausea and vomiting may get worse. Anyone else had this experience with the vomiting and nausea before even starting chemo.
