Ovarian cancer staging

My mom was diagnosed with CA endometrium stage IIIc and recently had staging laprotomy with radical hysterectomy, omenoctomy and node dissections. In the following biopsy results the stage is marked as T1bN2aM1. Could some one clarify is it still stage 3?, asking this because some have said M1 always means stage 4?

    Hi there,

Not sure if you found your answer yet. Here is a link that explains the staging - https://www.cancer.gov/about-cancer/diagnosis-staging/staging. Hope it helps.

Thanks for info @mjacoby .. We had a chat with doctor few days back when we went to restart chemo after the surgery about it.. He said it's IIIc as it's spread to omentum..

Just got discharged from hospital and now the ca125 measured yesterday has shot up to 110 from 11 before the surgery.. Is it normal?.. I am bit surprised as it was falling with every chemo before but after surgery started climbing again.. Hopefully it goes down with future chemo..
