Pain for hours after bm
Hello, I'm 3 years and 4 months out from treatment. Had my CT scan last month and all clear. For the past week I've been in pain in the anal area for hours after bm. I was doing so well for a while. Not sure why I hurt so bad. I see my colon Dr. on wed. for 6 months check-up. Anyone else have this problem?

Hi
I’ve been looking for you so I can respond on here as I live in Australia.
Yes, pain does happen after bm for me. It isn’t happening as often as it used to but just yesterday I had been on the toilet 🚻 for nearly two hours.
These times can be extremely stressful. I come away exhausted and aching awfully. The pain lasted for the rest of the day and into today. After these ‘episodes’ I must rest. Having a shower afterwards help relax me a little from the stress and while in the shower I feel comfortable enough to gently push my anal area back inside. The anal passage does not seem to be protruding but I can feel the sense of relief even more after this gentle inward applied pressure - from the outside.
Any bm after a traumatic movement leaves my insides tender for days. I have talked with my specialist surgeon about this pain and he has advised me that it is more than likely that the scar tissue in the bowel is restricting movement while at the same time being stretched. Sounds painful 😣 It is! But as I said, not as often as it used to be.
Take comfort from a heat pack or a warm hot water bottle. As well as some some pain relief as you rest.
Megan
