Uncle NED came to visit!

Lobbyist, thanks for sending Uncle NED my way for a visit. I'll send him on his way to the next member having scans.
In all seriousness, I had my CT scan, chest x-ray along with a doctor visit today--everything was clear. That makes 5 years for me.
They want me to come back next year for one more scan then move to every other year scan cycle for a few years. I agreed and thought it was a good plan moving forward.
So, in summary--Happy news in Iowa today!
Wishing you all the very best!

Congratulattions, Stub and
Congratulattions, Stub and Lobbyist! Please send Uncle NED to Latvia, to my husband, who is supposed to get his almost 7th year scans in September :-)
Doctor stopped his mandatory follow-ups after 4 years. But he still gets USG and x-ray privately every year, luckily it is very cheap in our country and he has good health insurance :-)

5 Years, wow
That is a semi-magic number. I was told "make it to 5 years" and we can consider less frequent monitoring tests. Well, I didn't make it to 1 year or even the 2nd year without the already metastsized nodes becoming visible and surgically removed. In my mind, I started the recount in 2008. So it's been 15 years since the start and 13 years since starting over.
It's always heartening to hear someone else with good news.
And just for remembering those who've passed, I drove past the Harley dealer this morning and thought of Fox. I sent him a real Harley shirt from Kuwait after we returned; and also one from from here with "Furthest West" dealership on it. I was so glad I got to talke to him less than 2 days before he passed away. A true fighter and willing to try the new drugs they were trying out.
Congrats and toasts to a great 'nuther year.
