High Protein & High Calorie drinks recipes,
Hello to all needing the extra nutrition , !
These are rather basic, with no exotic type ingredients . They were in fact given to me by the Nutrition dept here, way long before my cancer, because I have had a strictured esophagus and trouble swallowing long before cancer.
My doctors knew that my Radiation treatments would do it in for good and they were correct. It is damaged way beyond..... I signed multiple Release forms to absolve them of all liability. We had no choice, because my cancer would not stop...
Next week on August 26th is my next esophageal dilation. I get them Every 4- 8 Weeks,. Otherwise, it Completely obstructs and closes so that even water nor saliva will go down. The widest he can dilate it to, is 7 Millimeters . It closes up very fast and I'm left with 2- 5 millimeters most of the time. Very difficult...
Anyway, I've held onto recipes for years--- here are a few::
----Heavenly Hot Chocolate--
3 ounces milk chocolate ( baking chocolate, for example)
1 teaspoon butter1/4 teaspoon Vanilla extract
1 cup Half & Half
Melt chocolate and butter. Add Vanilla. Then slowly add the half & half, small amounts at a time. Reheat to desired temperature.
2 servings 416 Calories 15 grams Protein
------Brazilian Breakfast Shakes------
1 cup whole milk
1 ripe banana, sliced
1 packet French Vanilla instant breakfast powder ( such as Variation instant breakfast)
1 1/2 teaspoons Instant coffee granules
3 ice cubes
Blend in blender. Add more coffee if desired.
2 servings . 207 calories. 8 grams Protein
-------- Peaches & Cream-------
1 cup whole milk
1 cup canned peaches
1 cup Vanilla ice cream
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon Vanilla extract
Blend.
1 serving 630 Calories. 13 grams Protein
------Apple Pie a La LMode-----
1cup apple pie filling
1 cup Vanilla ice cream
1/2 cup whole milk
Dash of cinnamon
Blend. 1 serving 525 calories 8 grams Protein

---------Chocolate - Peanut Butter shake-----
1/2 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
3 Tablespoons peanut butter
3 Tablespoons Chocolate Syrup
1 1/2 cups Chocolate ice cream
Blend in blender.
1 serving. 1070 Calories. 17 grams protein
Wow!!?
------ Berry Protein shake-----
1 1/2 cups cold whole milk
8 ounces Berry flavored yogurt
1 packet Vanilla instant breakfast powder
1/2 cup powdered milk
1/2 medium banana
Blend in blender
1 serving 530 calories. 42 grams Protein
-------Goin' Bananas--------
3/4 cup cold whole milk
1/2 cup Silken Tofu
1/2 medium banana, frozen
1 packet French Vanilla instant breakfast powder
1 tablespoon Honey
1/8 teaspoon Vanilla extract
Blend in blender.
1 serving. 340 Calories 14 grams Protein
------ French Vanilla Coffee Breakfast-------
2 teaspoons Instant Coffee Granules
1/2 cup Hot water
1 packet French Vanilla instant breakfast powder
Ground cinnamon ( optional). Or Cream !
In large microwavable mug, dissolve coffee in hot water. Add the French vanilla powder. Microwave on High for a minute or until hot. Sprinkle with cinnamon, or top with cream.
Variation-- Use the Creamy Chocolate flavor powder
1 serving . 307 Calories. 14 grams Protein
--------Extra Protein--- Add 2 Tablespoons of powdered skim milk to any shake or drink. Mix well. This adds 55 calories and 5 grams Protein
Typical Fast Food Shakes are 300-650 Calories and 10-12 grams Protein.
Slim Fast ---- 1 can is 230 calories and 10 grams protein
Hot Cocoa made with 6 oz. Whole milk= 220 calories 6 grams protein.

Competition baker
Thank you and those were merely the first ones I found in my stash! Not sure if you know this, I competed for years in Baking contests and won a lot. Now, I still bake in occasion and I get paid by people who give me orders or I give to medical providers, family, etc. I specialize in cheesecakes, and cakes.
However, I cannot Taste. My R O wrote in his notes that I have 0% taste out of 100%.
For instance, I made a layer cake last weekend and I tasted the butter cream frosting ( out of habit) after I made it. Nothing registered at all. Not surprising as my natural tongue is just a memory.
And yet, I still love to bake and cook for others. I try to have experiences through theirs ! So, I do still enjoy the process and bringing joy to others with my creations.
Speaking of Cheesecake, here is::
---------- *Cheesecake Milkshake----*
1 Slice of plain Cheesecake
1/4 cup sliced fresh strawberries
1/4 cup whole milk
1/2 cup Vanilla ice cream
Blend in blender until smooth
1 ( 12 ounce) serving
490 Calories 9 grams Protein
--------------------------------
--------- Hot Mocha Milk------
I - 2 Tablespoons Chocolate Syrup ( like Hersheys)
1/2 teaspoon instant coffee granules ( or more ??)
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon ( optional)
3/4 cup whole Milk
Whipped cream for topping, with spray can or homemade
Combine chocolate syrup, instant coffee granules, and cinnamon in heat resistant mug.
Stir in the milk and heat uncovered in microwave oven for 1 1/2 minutes to 2 1/2 minutes until hot. Do not boil. Top with the whipped cream and enjoy!
