Started pazopanib this week praying my dad gets more time

Hi I have been frantically looking for more information on the drug my dad has started on this week pazopanib, he started with side pains and bad tummy about may time this developed in to a trip to a and e in June to have biosopy and now we are here. Last week he was told he had months  rather than years, but this weeks appointment to get him started on tablets seemed a lot more positive, from what I have read people can have time on pazopanib if he reacts well so I don't know why they told him he only had months to live as that has freaked out the whole family..... he is a very fit, not over weight, 78 year old he plays golf and cycles, I suppose I'm hoping to find lots of success stories and hang on to that hope
