Nerve Pain and Numbness

I have been off of here for quite some time. more then two years out post surgery for removal of a 3.8 CM chromophobe RCC tumor from right kidney.  Now I am experiencing nerve pain in both arms and down one leg radiating out of my lower back (sciatic Pain).  The sciatic pain has now caused numbness in my right foot. I mentioned this to my urologist who orders my scans he doesn't think its related to cancer.  I'm concerned....Should I push for a cat scan of the spine/neck?  Right now they are only doing abdominal ultra sounds for me...

Ask for an MRI of your spine.

Ask for an MRI of your spine.    From what you describe, a regular family practice doctor would order that for you.  I think specialists like your urologist, can get tunnel vision.  They want to assure you everything is okay verbally.  I think you should have your spine looked at to just know whats going on.  After you know what the cause is, I would think you would be referred to physical therapy to help with the sciatic problems at least.

I got the MRI.  I swear the tech looked like she saw a ghost after I got out of the mri tube.  I'm hoping it's just my scanxiety but I'm totally freaking out.  Waiting for results will be torture.  I imagine no sleep tonight.
