PhillieG has passed
It is sad to note that one of our long time stage 4 survivors has passed.
He was a fighter as well as someone who was determined to enjoy every minute he had. He dealt with cancer for 17 years.
Phil loved life.
Please say a prayer or send good thoughts to his family as they deal with this sad time.

Oh my goodness!
This is a shock!
While I knew of his continued stuggle with the beast, I didn't realize that it was getting the better of him. I hope that he was able to pass in a most peaceful manner. He deserved nothing less, after so many years of fighting.
I am crushed!

This is so sad to see. A really great guy from all the interactions I have had on the board. One of the consistents for me since I started.
My thoughts are with his friends and family.
EDIT: I bumped this thread- https://csn.cancer.org/node/297815- talented and kind person. (Fixed a bad link I posted also)
Hell, I hope this isn't his profile gone already.

Do we know details? The only interaction I had with him was about the HAI pump, and in that it appeared he had not had a recurrence for some time. Maybe he really did beat cancer and just went of the natural course of life.

I chatted him this year. He said he was not NED. I believe he had lung mets. But I am also curious what the cause was.

His obituary seemed to indicate that it was cancer. I don't believe he was ever cancer free as he seemed to be on some type of treament for life. Beyond that no details.

One post of him said that he was never NED. So I assume that he constantly fought the disease for 17 years.
Nevertheless still sad to let him go.
