i just had my 5 year last appoinment with my radiation oncologist a few days ago. He told me how good i looked , that he would miss me. i hugged & thanked him and that was it. just like that it was all over.

it really bought home to me how much i would miss him quietly being by side. and on it.

i have been crying off and on with wild bursts of joy inbetween since then. i didn't realise how hard to would be to say goodbye to this man who saved me. no one warned me about this bit. my emotions have really taken me by surprise.

If you are reading this and are still on your 5 year journey to here where i am at today, hang in there.

trust your doctors and do exactly what they tell you. if you smoke cigerettes, drink to much alcohol, take to many drugs or do anything else that may make stop you reaching your 5 year appoinment just STOP IT. now. no excuses. you know what you have to do.

the best gift you can give to yourself and your doctors who have given you a 2nd chance at life is to be the best healthiest version of yourself and have your oncologist break up with you because you are to healthy & cancerfree to have to see him any more.

    I'm so happy for you

I'm on my third year now. So far so good. I still have bowel issues but, with stool softeners I do fine. What a journey...I'm very happy for you.
