Why you SHOULD NOT go to Sloan Kettering
Heartbreaking lack of care during my treatments, misdiagnoses, and no anesthesia during procedures. The doctor missed 6 of my tumors which were metastatic. He was just going to do a lumpectomy on the two he found and send me home. I "knew" I had more cancer and I had to insist on a breast MRI about a half dozen times before he agreed. I told him I was going to go to Sinai and have the test and if they found anything, I'd sue him and Sloan. That motivated the MRI getting done. I was loaded both sides with two different types of breast cancer. One being invasive lobular. I would have died if it weren't for my intuition.
When I had the multiple needles inserted into my breast for imaging the dr used NO Anesthesia!! I was crying as he twisted and turned them in my breasts. He told me to stop crying or I'd miss my MRI appt. They then squeeze your breasts with the needles into the machine. I begged the MRI techs to listen to me about the lack of anesthesia but they just moved forward and said they had no time for this and that if I came back another day they'd have to insert the needles all over again. I was crying so hard. I have never felt so undervalued--my pain so insignificant. It was the most uncaring moment of my life. When I confronted the hospital they said if was my word against his.
Chemo was another fail. The nurses were perturbed by my lack of veins and very rough. One day my oncologist ran late and the nurse said she was now going to miss a party because I was late. Again I cried. I'm scared of dying and terrified of the drugs going into my body, and you're blaming me for missing a party? Talked to a manager. Fell on deaf ears. No Care!! They don't care!
In recovery after surgery a nurse was mad that I was moaning in pain and was asking to be given something. She ripped the iv out of the vein in my forearm and permanently damaged my arm and vein.
I wouldn't wish this horrible staff on anyone. They truly scarred my heart more than the cancer.

Uncaring medical workers
i have had the same experiences with the same procedures at two different hospitals. I’m sorry this was your experience.
