High Resolution Anoscopy and ongoing anal surveillence for HPV
a few questions for longer term survivors:
1. Any long term survivors screened routinely for latent anal HPV and early cellular changes with HRA?
if so, did you have cellular changes and any subsequent treatment like infrared, excision, 5 FU topical, or Immoquid?
2. Anyone have a second anal cancer? Not recurrence of 1st, but a second new tumor?
3. Anyone have an anal fissure after treatment for anal CA many years after treatment?
I have anal itching, very small amount light brown DC, and mild focal pain where my scar is at the internal sphincter ... scared I have second anal cancer, although I don't feel a mass.
Thanks ... be well friends! I appreciate any 1st hand experience.

1. Any long term survivors screened routinely for latent anal HPV and early cellular changes with HRA?
if so, did you have cellular changes and any subsequent treatment like infrared, excision, 5 FU topical, or Immoquid?I am scanned with an anascope at UCSF. They use a vinegar dye and camera. I don't know whether it is the same as what you are doing.
2. Anyone have a second anal cancer? Not recurrence of 1st, but a second new tumor?
No.
3. Anyone have an anal fissure after treatment for anal CA many years after treatment?
No. I haven't had this.
I have anal itching, very small amount light brown DC, and mild focal pain where my scar is at the internal sphincter ... scared I have second anal cancer, although I don't feel a mass.
Can you get a scan just so you feel reassured? I do have itching and slight discharge though. It seems like just part of the course for me. (I tend to wipe with a towel before bed, just to help with the itching. I have also tried baby power, but try to avoid it.)
Good luck. Wishing you the best,

Thank you so much for your response. I'm going to UCSF this week for a full Eval at the clinic where you likely are seen ... my fingers are crossed all is well. Yes, all that you've shared is what I need and will get this week.
