Surgery Wednesday...

So, I'll be going under the knife on Wednesday the 13th to get the little lump of demon cancer removed from my breath bags....  Not eligible for VATS because of where it's at... Darn the luck...

I'm on my way out to find some pj's with a button up top (who actually wears those?) and get my nails undone... I'm more upset about the nails than the lung... LOL, I'm a moron...

    You are funny

I've never heard lungs called 'breath bags' before.

I've got you down on my calander and you will be in my thoughts all day long.

Good luck with the PJ's shopping.

Nails are more important than lungs

It is now 4 years since I had part of my left lung removed.  I don't miss it at all.  But when I break a nail (guitar player) where it kind of rips, all h--l breaks loose,  Whining crying. Just a bad scene ;)

Good luck on the 13th.  ( I have two big scans that day - CT and MRI of the spine.)  Will be thinking of you.  We we congregate here in a week after the 13th to celebrate all good things.

    Hope things go well!

And you recover quickly. Are they taking an entire lobe? Both my kiddos were born on the 13th so I consider it the luckiest day !! Keep us posted and thinking of you!

    Surgery

Well I'm still wearing PJ's with the buttons going up the front - does that make me a granny - yup LOL.  They told me not to wear nail polish, but left it on anyway.  It could be they want to see the coloring of your nailbed to make sure that you are getting enough oxgyen.  Wishing you the best luck on Wednesday and when you are able, let us know how you are doing.

    I think the nail polish

I think the nail polish problem is just for that finger that gets the clamp on it. I love PJs with buttons, these sets can be really pretty and stylish

    You Too Anne

I will be doing the same.  I will also be a bit loopy today.  Going to take some pills to make it through the tubes (back pain is the reason for the scans, so last time I had to bail from the pain, then doubled pain killers all good.)

    You got this. :)

    I'm ALIVE!!

The surgery didn't kill me... So seriously, surgery is over and it went great! Doc pulled the lobe out, biopsied it, decided it was a secondary lung cancer, went back in a grabbed a couple of lymph nodes jus to be sure, and sewed me back up...  I got to come home yesterday, and I've got to say I'm feeling pretty good. Not tops, but better than I expected. Thanks you guys for the prayers, I need all of em I can get!

PS- the freakin jammies they were SO insistant I bring were left in the flippin spennanitebag.... <eyeroll>

    Wonderful news

Glad you weathered the surgery well , they got out the bad stuff and you are on the mend! Pray that the nodes are negative and you can get back to living your best life! Which lobe did they confiscate?

    Wonderful

Anne, Im so glad your surgery went well and you feel good!  reminds of the hysterectomy I went through on Jan 16 2019, I was so freaked out over thr possibility of awakening with a colostomy bag Bc they weren't sure if my tumor had grown into the colon and I was also upset over a large  incision !  I luckily  was able to have  laproscopic surgery and didn't involve the colon  ?,   ?????prayers  for your speedy recovery !

    Woo Hoo!

woohoo emoticon   Great news!   I love the how you say you're not feeling 'tops'.  I haven't heard that expression in a long time.  Anyway, I'm sure you WILL be feeling tops, real soon.

Continued prayers and good thoughts are heading your way.
