Best News from Bad News

Just got biopsy results back. And if one has to have bad news, at least there is some good components to it. The tonsil cancer has been confirmed, but so has HPV16. I am also being treated by a significant specialist in this field in Ft. Smith, Arkansas.
So I am not pleased to be diagnosed with cancer, I am relieved that it is this one in this place (tonsil). Also negative on any lymphoma.
There are thousands of far worse resulsts one could have had.
I'll take every little victory I can.
I'll be around here and appreciate the support I have received thus far and will participate for my own good and hopefully for the good of others and those that will follow me through their storm in the future.

HPV is the way to go. If they caught it early enough you may end up with a lighter course of treatment. Good luck.

As they say in Australia. My PET scan is Monday and I SURE AM hoping it was caught "early enough". I know the lymph node lump is very small, and, in fact, is only noticeable when I push on it. No other symptoms..no sore throat, nothing. So here's hoping. Thank you!
