Ent or oral surgeon for tongue cancer diagnosis

I have had burning sensation top surface of tongue for several months. Acout one month ago had 5 large ulcers on sides of tongue. Went to ent and he gave me a mouth wash. About week later ulcers better. About 3weeks later felt ulcer type roughness top of tongue then one every large, swollen painful ulcer back on same side as a month before. Pain so bad could not talk, eat or brush teeth. Top of tongue now has small red and smooth spot and burning continues. Pain from lymph nodes in neck. Should I see ent again or oral surgeon for diagnosis. Also, am long time user of nicorette gum but was told this could not cause cancer. Anyone experience these symptoms with tongue cancer? Type Dr to diagnose? Any information of nicorette gum use and tongue cancer?

    I would Go

Back to ENT, it is possible you are having a recurrence of whatever you had. If you feel you are not getting satisfaction find another ENT. If you would have anything that would be suspect of cancer the ENT would need to take a small sample for a biopsy to verify cancer or no cancer and if so what kind. I would not think cancer right away though there are many other things it could be. I don't think nicotine gum is meant to be used long term, just to get you to quit smoking. Try using it less and substituting sugarless gum. Check this article---
