Placed on eliquis.  Off chemo for 8 months - US shows DVT is gone.  How long to anticoagulate?

    What does doctor say?

These questions are particular to your blood, your veins and your case. If the DVT is gone, that is excellent news. Guessing here, but your blood numbers might help determine when to taper or discontinue the anti-coagulants. There are some negative side effects associated with the drugs, but far less negative than thromboses!

Due to having a Hickman line installed very near my port, I developed a 4cm thrombus in my right outer jugular vein. You can see it. Before discovery, it had become vascular, so it is now a living part of me. The vein will eventually expand to accommodate it.
