Anal cancer is not the same as colon cancer
At my last visit with the colorectal surgeon in February, I asked the same question. I was told that anal cancer is a skin cancer and not related to the colon. She also said that a colonoscopy would not be necessary until the 10 year mark like any other patient. Good to know! Hope the info helps.
