BRIP1 Gene Mutation and Blood in Urine
Hi, I may be putting the cart before the horse, but has anyone diagnosed with Bladder or Urethelial Cancer also been diagnosed with a BRIP1 gene mutation? I am passing blood clots and blood in my urine and have a history of bilateral breast cancer and BRIP1 gene mutation. I did a little research and see that risk for Bladder cancer is increased with the BRIP1 mutation, but not sure how significantly. I emailed my doctor with some articles and told him that if the mutation does predispose me to Bladder Cancer, then I want to be proactive and aggressive in determining the source of the blood and blood clots and rule in or out Bladder Cancer.
If anyone has any advice or suggestions for me, I really appreciate it. I have a bad feeling about this, but I faced and survived bilateral invasive breast cancer and prophylactic salpingo-oophorectomy/hysterectomy and I will face this too.
Thank you,
Chris
