Electro-Gel Cooling Cap: Advice on Cooling Caps to Prevent/Reduce Hair Loss During Chemo?
I am new to this site and seeking advice on anyone's experience with cooling caps. My friend in Europe was diagnosed with breast cancer 4 years ago and it has recently metastisized to other parts of the body very quickly. She was told she needs to begin chemo treatment.
She was preparing to celebrate her daughter's wedding in August. She wants to prevent as much hair loss as possible and researched cooling cap treatments. Unfortunately, she lives very far from the only 5 hospitals that offer this treatment in her country.
That being said, she wants to purchase something that is portable and accesible. I was wondering if anyone had experience with cooling caps, such as this one: https://sourcefitness.net/elasto-gel-cryo-recovery-cap/?sku=CAP602. I am aware that these may be much less effective than the treatments in the hospital, but she simply cannot access anything beyond an item like this. This option will allow her to freeze the cap with dry ice and transport to her chemo treatments.
Does anyone have any experience with such gel caps?
I really appreciate any responses and advice on this matter.
