Lumpectomy Chest Pain
Hello Warriors, Newbie here. I had a lumpectomy of my left breast on March 23,2020. I have had no aftercare due to this pandemic. Stage 1 - ILC. I have cording in the armpit and pain/pressure in the middle of my chest. Surgeon is no help, and gives me no answers. It is less than 1 month, and understand some discomfort, but I am disgusted that I am left to fend for myself. can anyone help me out? Thank you.
This whole journey has been a nightmare. I will get into that more later, but think my pain pill is kicking in! Yay!
Prayers,
Fed Up In NYC

Lumpectomy after care
To Pattyann: I had a lumpectomy a week and a half ago at Cleveland Clinic Akron during COVID-19 spread and I've had 3 consultations within a week of the surgery and two checkup calls. They are extremely careful by insisting on masks and distancing. There are many antibacterial stations on the walls which they ask you to use and everyone takes precautions seriously. Everything touched gets wiped down and floors and walls are continually being cleaned. Doctors wore masks and shields. I can't imagine any patient not being able to see a physician during this time if needed. I've had no pain at all except some tenderness in lymph node area so I can't relate to your chest pain. I hope you've had help by now. You shouldn't have to fend for yourself.

I would ask my oncologist
Out of my team who cared for me after, I would say to ask your oncologist. She is the one who told me what my plan of treatment would be following my lumpectomy, was stage 1, grade 1, 2 cancers, DCI and IMC. My onchotype came back low so I only had radiation. I definitely had the nerve pains for a very long time after, and to this day I am still numb in areas without much feeling. But I am grateful for life. I also experienced the cording following my radiation. They also removed one lymph node from my arm pit to check it. They say the cording feeling can happen, and again, I would ask my oncologist for help with that one. Where I go, I believe they recommended particular things to help, and I was given a chart with exercises to do, which also helped. If your oncologist can't help, ask her who the devil can? Let us know how you are doing.

PAIN AFTER A LUMPECTOMY
i JUST HAD MY ON sEPTEMBER 9TH 2020 ALONG WITH A LYMPH NODE REMOVAL AND A BIOZORB WAS IMPLANTED. i TOO HAVE BEEN HAVING A LOT OF PAIN AND i HAVE BEEN TAKING ANTIBOTICS FOR 6 DAYS NOW AND STILL HURTING WITH SOME REDNESS AROUND THE INCISION. sINCE i HAVE THE BIOZORB i KEEP FEELING LIKE MAYBE THAT IS WHY ALL THE PAIN AND INFECTION, BUT AFTER HEARING THESE OTHER STORIES IT MAY BE LIKE THIS ANYWAY. i FEEL VERY DISILLISIONED BY THE WHOLE PROCESS AND SO MUCH PAIN IS INVOLVED IN EVERY PART OF THIS WHOLE PROCESS. i'VE HAD TO RESEARCH SO MUCH INFORMATION AND i FEEL LIKE I WASN'T GIVEN ENOUGH INFORMATION TO BEGIN WITH. sURE YOU GET LOTS OF PAPERWORK TO LOOK OVER BUT WITH THE CORVIN-19 HAPPENING NO SUPPORT GROUPS WERE OPEN EXCEPT ON LINE WHICH IS DIFFEENT. i GO BACK TO THE SURGEON TO SEE IF MY INFECTION IS CLEAR THAN THE ONCOLIGIST FOR POSSIBLE CHEMO, WHICH i THOUGHT I ALREADY CLEARED BECAUSE MY LYMPH NODE WAS FREE OF CANCER, THAN RADATION AND MEDICINE. aFTER HEARING SOME OF THESE STORIES RADATION SCARES THE HECK OUT OF ME. tHE PROFESSIONALS ACT LIKE EVERYTHING IS GOOD AND YOU SHOULD HAVE NO BIG PROBLEMS? THANKS FOR LISTENING
i AM SO VERY SORRY FOR ANYONE WHO HAS TO GO THROUGH THIS EXPERIENCE i WAS SO POSITIVE AT FRIST NOT SO MUCH NOW

lumpectomy chest pain
Hi, I had my lumpectomy 5 weeks ago followed by a hematoma over entire breast. Chest pain, ice pic like shooting pains from cut nerves, etc. I have been standing in the shower for about 10-15 minutes each morning and just letting the warmer than warm but not hot, water just pour over my breast, shoulder and area. It has made such a difference, I also use heating pad a couple of times during the day. I got this info from breastcancer.org. I feel great resource. Good luck
