I drank an awful lot of baking soda on chemo.  It seemed to help.  Cimetidine is an acid inhibitor that may also have an anti-cancer effect.  Ranitidine always works for me, but it may be linked with cancer.  Gaviscon can also give some short term relief.  I am sure others will chime in with effective strategies.

I keep a box in the bathroom and just pour about 1/2 teaspoon in the bottom of a glass, add 2 iches of water, swirl it around and drink.  If it is too strong, you can just dilute it more and only drink part of it.
