Anyone have post treatment ear problems?
I just thought I'd post and see if any of you have had anything like this. I started having really weird feelings in my left ear like I had an earpod in it when nothing and sometimes blocked, sometimes I can hear my breathing and can't sleep on that side because of the clicking and thumping of my heart. I finally got to a specialist. I mentioned that I had gone though chemoradiation before this started and he asked if I'd lost a lot of weight. I did, not a big guy here 162 pre treatment, got down to 138 after treatment so yea. He thought it was something called Patulous Estatian Tube where the tube is stuck open caused by rapid weight loss. Nothing to really do for it, he suggested gaining the weight back and see. It's really really annoying but I guess another new normal?

Hi,
I think it is not all that uncommon to experience some hearing loss as well as other changes as a result (whether direct or indirect) of chemo drugs.
My doctor did a baseline hearing test prior to starting chemo, then another test after finishing treatment to test for hearing loss (there was in fact a small amount though it was not noticeable to me) then, another test a year later and it was back to baseline.
However, while I have never noticed any hearing loss, I do remember having that awareness of breathing, and especially the clicking as you describe. I was never able to fully explain it to my doctor so just chalked it up to a less talked about side effect. Its been several years since I have received chemo and I will say that I do not have that anymore.
Good luck to you, and I hope any continued side effects are minimal and manageable as you move forward.

Same here
I've been having tinnitus in my right ear and sinus feel stopped up on right side of face. Dealing with it now with my family Doctor. Hope it goes away.
