Lymphoma Symptoms, Seeing ENT Monday

Hi all. I hope everyone is doing well. I hope this type of post is allowed.

About 4 months ago I noticed a swollen node right behind my ear. Went to my doctor who said it was a cyst and not to worry about it. Last week I noticed it had gotten bigger and I had another one behind my other ear. Also one on my neck. Went to urgent care because it scared me and they said to get in to see an ENT as soon as possible for a biopsy. My bloodwork showed elevated monocytes and lymphocytes.

I have scalp psoriasis so I'm hoping that's the cause of the lymph node swelling. But the urgent care doctor didn't seem to think so. I've been extremely fatigued in the past few months. I'm only 22 so I've been kinda worried about all of this.

Did anyone else have similar symptoms or experiences? I'm kinda concerned about what the ENT will say Monday.

I would not even think cancer at this point

Far too early. You have a reasonable explanation for the enlarged nodes. As well, 2019 has been a very unusual year for unknown viruses. I am up to #6 at last count. A chronic virus, i.e. difficult to detect, can easily cause fatigue and elevated white counts. Whatever it is, it is something. I would not fear or dread the ENT. Rather, I would hope to find the cause and deal with it. Do let us know how it goes.

    In my non professional

In my non professional opinion, I seriously doubt your ENT will do a biopsy on the first visit. Typically they will run you through a course or two of antibiotics. Thats just what ENTs do. At this point your symptoms could certainly most likely indicate some sort of infection. If its a virus the antibiotics will not necessarily knock it out so don't be alarmed if that happens. But do stay after it. Best of luck!
