Question about biopsy
Hi
My husband was just told that he had a 8 mm lung nodule with an FDG uptake of 3.7. The doctors are concerned that it is suspicious for cancer, either pancreatic which metastasized to the lung or a new cancer. They are suggesting a biopsy. My question is given the size would having the module completely removed be better than just biopsting it? what are the pros and cons?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Kathy

Sorry but this type of question should only be responded to by a doctor which i am not. You want to ensure you get factual information to make a proper informed decision.
Thanks for your reply. My husband had the biopsy On Friday. It went really smooth. They did not put him out. We are just waiting for the results.
